On Sunday evening March 1,2009 at the Chapter Leaders Conference at PPFA09, Stuart Altschuler, CPF®, GCF, new elected PPFA National Board member, announced that he is available to provide programming for any PPFA chapter at no charge. This generous offer was well received by all. If you are a Chapter Leader and are interested you may

  • Design Role Play- in this presentation audience members volunteer to role play the frame design process. We'll have things to frame or you can bring your own difficult project to use in the role play. Participants will play both customer and framer as we recreate real-life situations. Attendees learn how to deal with difficult customers and difficult pieces. Thinking fast on your feet to overcome difficulties working with customers makes each of us better framers and salespeople.

  • Improving Your Internet Presence- in this presentation, based on the popular series of articles in Decor Magazine you will learn how little things can dramatically improve the effectiveness of your website. We talk about how the web works today and how to make the most of it for your store, whether you are a small owner operated business or a larger shop. Brave volunteers can have their sites critiqued, with helpful comments on how to easily improve results. Unless you have the perfect site (who does?) you will learn something from this presentation.

  • Shadow Box Pan Mats- this hands-on class teaches participants to make sloped sided depth mats for use in object box framing. Limited materials are needed and no special equipment is necessary. The only tools that are required are x-acto knives, framers' tape, and a single sheet of mat board. This class runs 2½ hours and needs sufficient table space for each student.
